On Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Tyson Fury defends his WBC heavyweight world title and the heavyweight lineal championship against Deontay Wilder (ESPN+ PPV, 9 p.m. ET, with preliminary bouts beginning at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+).
In February 2020, Fury reclaimed the championship from Wilder with a seventh-round TKO win in a rematch of a controversial split draw from 2018. Fury, 33, of Manchester, England, has guaranteed another KO win and said that he would force Wilder to retire early.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Fury added, “He’s in denial, and he’s being knocked out.” “His legacy has been shattered. I knocked him unconscious and am now putting him to rest.”
Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs), 35, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, believes the bout on Saturday will be memorable and that he will win this time.
“I have nothing to prove,” Wilder said. “I’m at a fantastic location and am in a fantastic frame of mind.” I’m surrounded by a lot of wonderful individuals. This is a battle about vengeance, payback, and redemption.

Despite a 20-month layoff, Williams was highly favored in the fight, fighting out of Philadelphia. This was William’s first fight after he lost the WBA and IBF championships to Jeison Rosario in January 2020 by fifth-round TKO. He was scheduled to fight twice in the past year, but owing to injuries and a positive Covid-19 test, his comeback was postponed. Williams, 31, had his sights set on IBF, WBA, and WBC champion Jermell Charlo if he won. Instead, he’s now 0-2 in his past two games.
Through the first five rounds, Williams outpunched Hernandez 70 to 60, according to Compubox. Hernandez went on to outscore him 77-42 in the last five minutes.
Despite sustaining a cut near his left eye in the opening round, Hernandez prevailed. Throughout the fight, the cut widened, but Hernandez continued to apply continuous pressure. The battle was turned around by Hernandez’s speed and pressure, as he controlled the latter rounds while Williams slowed down.
